Sweet cakes ep4

Chapter 4

“YURI-AH, STOP TEXTING AND HELP ME WITH THE ORDERS!” Tiffany called for her.

Kwon Yuri frowned, “but Kyuhyun-ah.” She looked at the little screen on her razer phone, “he told me to wait.”

“And I’m telling you to work,” SooYoung took the phone and snapped it shut, shoving it in the side pocket of her apron.

“Who put you in charge?” Yuri rolled her eyes.

“FYI.. we’re most likely going to go out of business if we don’t step up to the plate.”

“I thought I was the unnie here..” the lovely black pearl sighed, “whatever. If it vibrates just tell him-”

“Yeah yeah yeah just go, table six wants a refill on water,” HyoYeon came out from behind the counter and gave Yuri a pad of paper and a pen and pushed her forward.

Sunny tapped Tiffany’s shoulder as she entered the kitchen to retrieve a tray of hot chocolate, “hey..remember when you said we’ll survive.. this situation?”

“Yeah – what about it?”

“Well – in order to survive this, we need more help.”

Tiffany stared at her, “Jessica doesn’t want more help. She thinks we’re strong on our own.”

Sunny spoke, “but we need it. Seohyun needs rest and more time to study. Some of us just want more days off.”

“I know what you’re saying, but hey, if you want something to happen, go speak to the boss.”

-

-

“No.” That was TaeYeon’s answer.

“What are you implying?” Jessica questioned.

Sunny turned to Yoona for backup, “the guys..”

“NO,” Taesica answered boldly.

“I don’t want to work with my brother, are you crazy..” TaeYeon swore to herself.

“Well, don’t mind him. I doubt he’ll want to work anyways. He thought we were running a pub or something,” Sunny shook her head.

Yoona pointed at the oldest two, “they offered. And I called them already.”

“You WHAT?!”

Sunny gapped, “YOONA YOU DID?”

“YOONA HELP!”

“YOONA!”

The poor girl covered her ears and tried to speak over the shouting voices, “I’m sorry that I’m going against your wishes but this could be for the better.”

TaeYeon slammed her hand on the table, “Do you realize the conflicts?!”

“Kyuhyun and Yuri,” Jessica stated.

“You and Yesung BICKERING TWENTY FOUR SEVEN.”

Sunny narrowed her eyes, “OH YEAH. WHAT ABOUT YOU AND EETEUK.”

“WHAT!?!?”

“I swear, you two flirt like there’s no tomorrow.”

TaeYeon’s face turned red, “AT LEAST WE CAN WORK TOGETHER WITHOUT THREATENING TO SHOVE FOOD DOWN EACH OTHER’S THROATS.”

“Enough!” Jessica cut them apart.

Yoona mumbled, “I think we can all work well together, if we put our differences and personal lives aside.”

“HAH, like that’s possible,” TaeYeon retorted.

“The only two who don’t seem to have a problem with the guys are Seohyun and Tiffany.”

“Two out of nine is pretty lame..” Sunny admitted, she looked outside of the office and noticed that the other girls were cleaning up for the night. Yoona left to go help.

Jessica sighed, “closing time, so Sunny, what do you suggest we do?”

-

-

“I feel like I have a kink in my back..” HyoYeon mumbled, slumping into one of the booths.

Yuri snapped her fingers at SooYoung, “phone, phone, phone, now.”

SooYoung handed it back to her and she heard the very dreadful knock at the glass door. “You’ve got to be kidding me….”

She trudged over to the door and unlocked it, “dude, why do you keep coming back?”

“Dude, no one says dude anymore,” Siwon chuckled softly and he came in.

SooYoung gave him a look, “seriously, why?”

Her brother looked confused, “didn’t Yoona tell you?”

“…What..” SooYoung turned around, a bit frightened, “Yoona, did you and Kibum have some fight and now you’re going after my brother?”

Siwon laughed heartily.

Yoona giggled nervously, “uhh.. no.. I called them.”

“Who do you mean by ‘them’?”

Siwon put his arm around his sister and whispered to her, “it’s going to be interesting to work with you sis.”

“WHAT DID YOU SAY!?” Tiffany had overheard him.

SooYoung felt stuck, “say what?”

TaeYeon and Jessica came out of the office, “what’s with the noise – YOONA.” They froze when they saw Siwon.

Yoona let out a nervous squeak and ran behind Siwon to hide.

“HEY SIS! Guess what – I’m your new employee!” TaeYeon cringed at the sound of Heechul’s voice.

SooYoung took Yoona’s hand and they ran over to where HyoYeon, Seohyun and Tiffany were. “What did you do?!?!”

“I just dialed the numbers, it was Sunny’s idea.”

“Aiyah, Choi SooYoung! I’m gonna hurt you, he called fourteen times and you didn't respond!” Yuri gasped when she saw the notifications on her phone.

“WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE. YOU’VE NEVER WORKED A DAY IN YOUR LIFE!” TaeYeon screeched at Heechul.

Seohyun clutched on to HyoYeon, “Unnie.. do something.”

“Girl, I have no power over her,” the dancing queen stated.

The rest of the guys began to come into the caf in groups. Sungmin, Yesung, Ryeowook trailed in behind Siwon and Heechul shortly after. Eeteuk, Shindong and Kangin followed in with Kyuhyun and Kibum behind them.

TaeYeon felt a headache coming on. She grabbed Jessica’s arm, “do you wanna deal with this? Please don’t die on me.”

Donghae, Eunhyuk and Hankyung finally came in when TaeYeon was at her breaking point.

Tiffany kicked SooYoung’s foot from under the table, grinning.

It felt like a school dance. On one half of the caf, the girls sat, and the other side is where guys stood, waiting for a response.

TaeYeon was insanely surprised when Jessica gave in.

“You’re kidding, right?”

-

-

“What you girls lack is promotion,” Sungmin began, taking out a notebook. He flipped to a color coated page.

Yoona smiled at him and he continued. She was glad this was going along. Everyone had arranged the tables to make a giant square for them to sit at.

“You guys should consider a website, and then linking to others,” he continued.

“The place has a lot of potential, you girls know that right?” Kangin looked at them.

They looked at each other, unsure.

“Well, it does. And you should be taking a step forward to make something happen.”

Tiffany whispered to Yuri, “it’s scary how serious they can be..”

The black pearl couldn’t help but smile.

“So, we're lacking promotion,” Jessica repeated, “besides a website, what could we all do to help get the caf more known.”

“Posters!”

“Mmm.. an event where we could sell drinks and desserts for cheap?” Ryeowook suggested.

“I like that ~ Sungmin oppa, get this down,” Jessica said.

“Or we can have something here.. for one day we can offer people drinks and desserts for free. Just for that one day so they can try what they new things without having to pay at first,” Eeteuk stated.

TaeYeon was impressed, “wow.. that doesn’t sound half bad.”

“Ahaha.. Kyuhyun and I were discussing this earlier, but it was mainly Kyuhyun.”

Sunny gave Yuri a push, urging her to give Kyuhyun a hug. Everyone chuckled at the notion.

“Should we have a vote?” Siwon asked.

“Sure, okay all in favor of Ryeowook’s idea.” Nine hands went into air.

“And for Kyuhyun’s idea?” Ten hands rose.

“Mm,” TaeYeon paused, “we’re missing three.”

Seohyun spoke up, “how about both of their ideas?”

Yoona, SooYoung and Hankyung lifted their hands up slowly.

“Ahahah there we go.”

“Hyung, you’re such a peacemaker.”

Yoona tried to hide her grin, so she pulled her hand down to cover her mouth.

SooYoung yanked her hand back up in the air so it wouldn’t seem odd that she and Hankyung were the only ones who voted for both of the ideas.

“Yeahhhhh SooYoung and Hankyung oppa and I overpower,” Yoona joked, SooYoung jabbed her in the ribs.

“We could possibly do both.. then everyone’s happy, how about that?”

“Both events? We need to promote the evens in order to promote the caf,” TaeYeon laughed.

“Okay, so how do we do that?” Yesung questioned.

“Ahahahaha,” TaeYeon laughed to herself. “MEGAPHONES!!”

O____O

“THAT’S RIGHT! WE WILL PARADE AROUND THE STREETS OF SEOUL AND ADVERTISE WITH MEGAPHONES!”

“TaeYeon’s getting pretty scary,” Eunhyuk commented, he go out of his chair quickly when TaeYeon was about to attack him.

They came to a final decision, the next day they would walk around the streets of Seoul, in the freezing cold screaming into megaphones – promoting the caf.

“Gosh you make it sound like it’s a bad thing, you said you wanted to help,” TaeYeon muttered to her brother.

“Fine, fine, fine – but you have to pair up with me tomorrow.”

“NU UH!”

Later on, Jessica called for take-out at a local Korean restaurant. “Yes..yes.. thank you.” She hung up and when she turned around, Donghae stood before her.

“Geez.. do you want to restart my heart?”

He smiled cheekily, “maybe.”

She made a face, “you’re weird.”

“Hey, I’m the one who’s supposed to get the food in this minus ten degrees weather.”

“I thought someone else was going with Siwon ..” she spoke quietly.

He shrugged, “whatever.”

“Whatever.”

He turned his back to her but then rotated back, “do me a favor.”

“What, now?”

“Since we’ll be working with one another for a while..”

Jessica narrowed her eyes, “what?”

He leaned close to her face, a bit too close and whispered, “try not to fall for me.”

Donghae pulled away quickly before anyone noticed and he left flawlessly.

Jessica contained herself and then spoke, “you have got be kidding me..”
