Kissing You 3

Kissing You chapter 3

Jiyong sat in his room, writing in his journal, which he refused to call a diary. Throughout the years, it had grown so thick that there were papers and pictures sticking out everywhere. When he finished writing, Jiyong looked back to the very first day he started his entries, 10 years ago.

February 14th, 1998

Dear you.......

I'm just writing in you for no reason, and diary sounds too girly, and journal sounds kinda weird, so I'm calling you "you" until I think of a better name. I've decided to start writing in you because:

Today, I met the nicest, bestest girl in the whole wide world!

----------------------

flashback

----------------------

A young 6-year-old Jiyong sat on the slides at the playground, crying alone. Then, a girl walked up to him.

"Hey, why aren't you with everyone else?" the girl asked.

"No one wants to be my friend, they all say I'm stupid," Jiyong sniffled.

The girl smiled and said, "Well then, I can be your very first friend! And you can be my best friend!"

Jiyong looked up. "Really?" he asked hopefully.

She answered, "Of course! Why would I lie?"

Jiyong pouted. "I don't know," he said. "My name's Kwon Jiyong, what's yours?"

"I'm Jung Jessica."

After school, Donghae went to the student council meeting. Hmmm let's see, he thought, of course Taeyeon's going to be there, Seohyun is too, I think that Taeyang will be there, and... all the other people.

He arrived at the meeting room, and he entered. It was always his style to be late, so when he got there, the student council president, Yunho, growled through his teeth, "Donghae, you're late... again."

Donghae flashed a smile that made Seohyun and Taeyeon nearly faint and all of the other girls swoon. "Anyways," Yunho continued, "I wanted you to get here on time because we're introducing a new student council member. She's new here and not that good at Korean, but from what I've seen, she could help us in our meetings. Welcome, Jang Ri In!"

Ri In walked nervously through the door, giving a small wave. "Um, hello everybody," she said timidly, "I don't know if I'll be much help-" and at this point she was cut off by a member of the fan club in the student council.

"Yeah, you won't be much help, so why don't you leave?" JungAh asked intimidatingly.

Ri In covered her blushing face in her hands as Donghae reprimanded JungAh for her rudeness. "JungAh, that's not nice!" Donghae exclaimed. "Let Ri In speak, otherwise you're off the student council! Right Yunho hyung?" he asked, looking at Yunho.

Taeyeon piped up, "Yeah JungAh, let Ri In talk, it's not fair!" she exclaimed, wanting to be on Donghae's side.

Seohyun stood up and walked over to Ri In, who was nearly curled up into a ball because of embarrassment. "It's okay Ri In," she soothed, "just calm down and take a breath. Take your time."

Going along with Seohyun's advice, Ri In took a deep breath and started speaking again. "I'm not sure if I can do a lot, but I hope that I'll be given a chance to show what I can do," she finished softly.

Donghae called to Seohyun, "Nice, Seohyun, good job!" he said, giving her a thumbs-up. Seohyun turned into a ripe tomato from his action.

"Well, anyways," Yunho said, before Seohyun really fainted, "let's talk about our plans for the school dance. Does anyone have a theme?"

-----------------------------------------------------

After the student council meeting, Ri In ran away as soon as possible to avoid the fanclub members, but she knew that JungAh would tell the others, and she wouldn't be safe for long. Everyone split their seperate ways, except for Donghae and Taeyeon, who walked together to the park.

Donghae started a conversation. "So, Taeyeon, what did you need help on?" he asked.

Taeyeon, flustered, answered quickly, "Oh, well, just literature."

Donghae already knew that Taeyeon was lying, but he played along anyway. "I thought literature was your best subject," he wondered out loud.

Taeyeon got even more flustered and said, "Oh um, right now is poems, I'm not really good at those!" she lied quickly.

Donghae smiled. "Oh, that makes sense!" he exclaimed.

They arrived at the park, and Donghae explained some irrelevant things, while Taeyeon heard, but didn't listen. She was too busy ogling at Donghae's face to pay attention. Then, when Donghae asked if she understood, Taeyeon just nodded her head dreamily, but she snapped out of her trance.

Donghae grinned. "So I guess we're done?" he asked.

Taeyeon nodded. "Yep," she answered, but she was a bit reluctant to leave Donghae's company, with just the two of them alone. But Taeyeon wasn't completely let down, because Donghae said to her, "Let me walk you home," politely.

When they arrived at Taeyeon's doorstep and rang the doorbell, it was Heechul who answered it. He gave Donghae a menacing glare, pulled Taeyeon in, and she barely had enough time to say, "Bye oppa" before Heechul slammed the door in Donghae's face.

Donghae shrugged and began to walk home.

-----------------------------------------------------

Once inside, Taeyeon gave Heechul a glare, and in return, he glared back. The two stayed there right behind the door for five minutes until Heechul blinked. Taeyeon smirked and said, "Ha, I win again!" The two had been playing this game ever since they were little, and Taeyeon so far had a winning streak of 858 to 2.

Heechul cursed under his breath and told Taeyeon, "Taeyeon, why were you with him?"

She answered, "I told you babo, he was helping me study."

Heechul, having no good comeback to this, ran upstairs yelling to Taeyeon, "I'll win someday, you count on it!"

Taeyeon chuckled and shook her head pityingly as she walked to her room.

----------------------------------------------------

Seohyun walked home with Ri In after the meeting because they decided to go for ice cream together. In the space of a couple minutes' walk to the local ice cream parlor, the two had become inseperable friends. The two girls, still talking, walked into the ice cream parlor and did not notice Tiffany eating her own double scoop of chocolate and strawberry ice cream. Tiffany noticed them.

"Seohyun! Ri In! Over here!" Tiffany called in English, and noting Seohyun and Ri In's confused faces, she giggled, "Oops," and repeated the same thing in Korean. "Sorry guys," she laughed as they ordered their ice cream and walked to her table to sit with her. "Sometimes when I eat this ice cream I think of my friends back in California."

Coincidentally, Kyuhyun happened to walk in too. Tiffany yelled to him, "Kyuhyun! Get over here!" Kyuhyun ordered his ice cream and walked over to the girls' table.

"Hey Tiffany, Seohyun, Ri In. How are you guys?" Kyuhyun asked. "Anything interesting happen after I left?" Kyuhyun had gotten a fever in the middle of the day, and he had gone home.

Seohyun turned to Kyuhyun. "Well, Ri In's in the student council now," she said.

Tiffany shouted, "What? REALLY?" as Kyuhyun added more quietly, "Wow, that's great Ri In, congratulations!"

Tiffany jumped on top of Ri In to hug her, practically squishing Ri In's small body. "Thank you... Tiffany," Ri In gasped. "Now.. could you please get off before.. I choke?" Tiffany said, "Oh right!" and immediately got off, Ri In gasping for air.

The four soon became the best of friends, all thanks to ice cream.

Yuri and her friend, Kibum, walked to their homes together after school. Yuri was busy ranting on about Sooyoung and her latest fight, while Kibum just kept on walking next to her nodding every once in a while.

"And then Sooyoung called me obsessive, and I called her a pig, but she called me a pinky princess, and I called her a witch and said she had a boil on her nose, but she lied and pointed out that there was a fake pimple on my face, and then I looked in it with my mirror right? But then, I accidentally tripped over a rock, and I fell down and bumped my head on the bench! So now I have this!" She pointed to a bruise on her forehead. Kibum laughed and brushed Yuri's bangs back aside so that they would hide the bruise.

"It's okay, nobody will notice if you just keep it like this until it heals," Kibum advised.

"But Kibum, it's not a matter of the bruise, it's a matter of my pride!" Yuri practically screamed. "That... that Sooyoung injured my pride, so now I have to get back at her!" During the last part of her sentence, her voice immediately changed to a vengeful one that showed she meant what she said.

"Well, do you want to go to my house and make some cookies? I think there's a new episode of Coffee Prince today. I know you really like Gong Yoo," Kibum said.

Yuri smiled. "Okay!" she said happily and started skipping down the sidewalk.

Yoona had just been driven home by her chauffer, and she ran to the elevator and pressed floor number 3, where the wing she lived in was located. She finished her homework quickly, and immediately started thinking of a new trend to start the next day. She knew that all of the girls counted on her to start fashion crazes, and Im Yoona would rather die than have her reputation as the school's trend setter soiled. She spoke into the intercom to have her maid bring up a snack for her, and she took out her design book and started drawing.

A couple hours later, Yoona had completed her masterpiece, and she modeled it on herself. She looked from all angles into her mirror, and after making a few changes, she was finally satisfied with the outcome. Yoona looked forward to seeing the girls' reactions when they saw it the next day.

Sooyoung and Sunny had decided to go get some coffee after school, so they headed to the local cafe. Sunny asked, "Sooyoung, why are you in the fanclub?"

Sooyoung replied with a shrug. "I don't know, well, it seems fun I guess."

Sunny responded, "But you have no freedom, look at you, you're the lowest member in the club just because you have guy friends other than Donghae!"

Sooyoung nodded slowly. "True, but I do like the fact that there are perks to this."

Sunny said softly, "Anyways, there's another guy that probably already likes you." Being popular among other students, she always knew the newest gossip before anyone else, and she had known for a long time that there was a rumor going on: Lee Sungmin had a crush on Sooyoung. It was just a rumor, but ever since Sungmin had volunteered to do the morning announcements with Sooyoung, it had spread.

Sooyoung couldn't hear Sunny's soft voice, and she leaned forward and asked, "What?"

Sunny just shook her head rapidly and smiled. "Nothing, nothing."

The two finished their coffee and decided to go for a game of mini-golf. Sunny and Sooyoung raced to the golf course, and all else was forgotten.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Hyoyeon picked up her bag after school and ran to the public dance studio. She got there and immediately changed into more comfortable clothes, and slipped a CD into the stereo. She turned up the volume, and hip hop music instantly blared out. Bobbing her head to the rhythm, Hyoyeon started dancing some of her new moves: popping, locking, wave, and other moves from other dances were incorporated. After she finished, sweating and panting, she heard clapping coming from the door. Eunhyuk was leaning against the door frame, and apparently he had been there for a while. Hyoyeon pointed to him.

"Hey, I know you," she said, "you're one of Donghae's friends right? Eunhyuk?"

Eunhyuk nodded. "Yup, that's me," he replied. "And you are?"

"Hyoyeon, childhood friend of Donghae, at your service," she answered. She walked over to get her water bottle and took a drink from it while Eunhyuk thought of what to say next.

"Well, seems like you've got some nice moves," Eunhyuk said. "And lucky for you, I came here to practice too. Danceoff?" he held his hand out to Hyoyeon.

"Sure," Hyoyeon took his hand and shook it firmly.

~~~
After about 30 minutes of challenging each other with their own original dance moves, Eunhyuk and Hyoyeon sat down panting. They grabbed their water and gulped down almost half of each bottle at once.
"Well," Eunhyuk said, "seems like we're evenly matched."
"Nope," Hyoyeon gasped, "I win."
Eunhyuk asked, "Why?"
Hyoyeon smirked. "Ever heard of ladies first?"
Eunhyuk replied smugly, "I refuse to lose to a girl. Come back tomorrow and we'll have a rematch."
Hyoyeon grinned. "No problem, what time?"
"Same."
"Cool, see you tomorrow then."
"Yeah, bye."
After the girl left, Eunhyuk stared at where she was sitting next to him for a long time. Kim Hyoyeon, he thought, interesting girl.
------------------------------------------------------------
Jessica was lying down on her bed, playing with a small heart necklace. But it wasn't any necklace. It was only half, the other one held by a special boy, one that she hadn't seen for a long time.
"I wonder where he is now," she sighed.
