Sweet cakes ep2

Chapter 2

Jessica picked up her phone and dialed, “Yuri.. Yuri!!” She looked around the caf where SeoHyun and Sunny were serving people. “Yuri - you’ve been gone half an hour. Where are you? It shouldn’t take you that long to go buy a few bags of milk. Why would the super market run out?”

Sunny came over, cashing some money into the register. “Maybe we should consider having five people work a shift.” In her mind, she was dreaming of flying pancakes. Random. Wee.

“Yeah, maybe,” Jessica answered, hanging up. She looked over at SeoHyun who was hard at work. SeoHyun should really be studying now. “SeoHyun.”

“One second,” she said and ran over to her, “yes?”

“You can take a break. Okay?” Jessica put an arm on her shoulder, “You look tired.”

“No, I’m fine. Really,” she said. She tried to hide the fact that she was exhausted.

Jessica shook her head, “Just sit down. We’ll take over. No – Yuri will – she’s not here. She owes us.”

SeoHyun sighed, “Um, I’ll just work at the cash register then.”

Sunny cleared the rest of the tables. Yuri came in with a few bags in her hands.

“About time!”

“Shut up, you go running around the city looking for decent milk.”

“What are you talking about? There’s a store right around the corner,” Jessica shook her head, taking the bags form Yuri.

“I don’t wanna argue,” Yuri shook her head, she grabbed her apron and went off to help Sunny. “Hey Sunny, watch-”

“Wa-----ouch!”

Some guys at the back table laughed as they saw Sunny fall to the ground. Someone had spilled their drink on the floor and didn’t call for someone to clean it up.

“I am so sorry!” The teenage girl from the table had said.

Sunny ignored her, Yuri helped her up. Once Sunny was back on her feet, she cleaned up the few remaining tables.

“Can I take this?” Yuri asked the girls who spilled her drink. She pointed to a mug on her table that was half full of coffee.

“Uhm.. sure..”

Yuri smiled sweetly, grabbed the mug and walked over to the guys who were still cackling away.

“Can I get you anything?” She asked with a fake cheery voice.

“Yeah, can you get your friend to come over here,” one of the guys said and knocked one of his glasses full of water down. It spilled onto the floor. His friends laughed.

“You’re kidding right?” Yuri smirked. She instantly poured the hot coffee over the guy’s head.

”What the hell!” Other customers stared. Luckily closing time was in another hour. Sunny’s mouth dropped, but she couldn’t help but laugh back at them. Revenge was sweet.

SeoHyun was staring the whole time. Her mouth was wide opened like Sunny’s. “Uhh Jessica unnie..”

Jessica’s eyes widened, “Yuri!”

“You’re such a hot head!” Yuri snapped at the guy. She wanted to beat the crap out of him.

“That needs to be cooled off,” Sunny laughed, grabbing the jug of cold water from Jessica then pouring it over him and all of his friends.

Clapping was heard in the background. “Bravo.” The girls turned around and there stood Kangin and Siwon.

Jessica placed the bill down on the table, “Pay.”

“Fine – just know that we’ll be spreading the word on how horrible the service is.”

“Go ahead – if there’s more people like you out there, I don’t want them in our caf,” Jessica gave him a cold stare.

“Go Jess,” Sunny smiled then gave her a hug.

SeoHyun quickly got out from behind the counter and ran to assist the other tables that were staring at the scene in the back. She cleared three tables. A nice dinner was rewarded tonight.

“What’s going on?” Kangin and Siwon walked over to the counter and took a seat on the high stools.

“Oppa - - uhh.. long story?” SeoHyun suttered but smiled at the same time.

Once most of the caf was emptied, the girls sighed in relief as those idiots were long gone.

“What was that?” Kangin laughed, then patting the girls on the back.

“Sunny slipped on her a*s,” Yuri nodded with a grin.

Sunny gave her a look, “Yeah lets not go over that again.”

“It wasn’t her fault of course,” Yuri said taking Sunny’s arm, “some girl spilled her drink. Sunny slipped. Those losers at the back start laughing.

“And then Yuri poured hot coffee over their heads,” Jessica laughed.

“I saw the cooling off part,” Kangin laughed, giving Sunny a high five.

Siwon smiled, “Hey Jessica, good job.”

“Hmm…oppa, for what?” Jessica asked shyly.

“For telling that guy off.”

“Impressive,” Kangin added.

Jessica smiled as she walked behind SeoHyun. Siwon had just praised her.
