Kissing You 4

Kissing You chapter 4

"Jessica! Wait!" Jiyong called. It was the first day of 4th grade, and Jessica had gone to Jiyong's house so that they could walk to school. She called him, but since he wasn't going down, she had started to walk away, knowing that he would follow.

Jessica turned around and laughed. "Jiyong, you dork! What were you doing, taking so long?"

"Um, well," Jiyong began, "I forgot something, and I had to bring it with me."

"Well? What is it?" Jessica asked eagerly.

Jiyong grimaced. "Do I have to tell you?" he asked.

Jessica grinned. "Of course you have to, otherwise I'm going to find it myself!"

"Fine," he grumbled. Slowly, he took out his hand from his pocket and uncurled his fist. In there was an evidently old piece of paper, and he held it out to Jessica. She unfurled it and her eyes widened.

"Hey, this is the drawing I gave you on the first day we met, isn't it?" she asked. "Why do you still have it?"

"Cuz," Jiyong said, "that's the day I made my first friend. I always carry it around for good luck."

Jessica smiled. "I never knew you had that still! Thanks!"

Jiyong's face became confused. "For what?"

"Well, I never knew that you liked it so much that you would keep it for three years. I feel happy that you would keep something like that."

"Of course," Jiyong replied, a little bit flustered. "Umm I really like your hair today," he said, trying to change the subject.

"Really?" Jessica touched her hair gingerly. "Thanks, umma did it for the first day of school."

Still talking, the two friends approached their school.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Donghae arrived at Jessica's mansion in his sapphire blue convertible. It was the day of their date, and he had made sure to make himself and his car look extremely good. He looked at himself in the rearview mirror one more time, and he stepped out of the car. He rang the doorbell, and a maid came to open it.

"Oh, hello," the maid said. "The mistress is almost ready for you, she'll be down in a few moments. In the meantime, she wants you to wait in the living room."

Donghae nodded with a smile, and the maid walked off. Dongahae looked around the room, and he was surprised to see that there was a comfortable family atmosphere, not at all like what you would think of finding in such a big mansion. He looked at one of the framed pictures that was of Jessica when she was younger, and he laughed at how cute she was. But one picture attracted his attention, one of Jessica and a boy when they were younger.

As Donghae persued the picture, Jessica came downstairs. She was wearing a dark blue halter top with a short denim jacket, and a white miniskirt with a dark blue ribbon around the middle. To top it all off, Jessica had a baby blue messenger bag and was carrying white strappy sandals so that she wouldn't get the polish on the wood scratched. Donghae turned to look at her, and his mouth dropped open at how stunning she looked, even with the simple ensemble.

Donghae managed to stutter out, "Y-you look really nice."

Jessica laughed. Noticing that Donghae was looking at one of the pictures from when she was younger, she walked over and asked, "Hey, which one are you looking at?"

Donghae pointed at a random one, and it happened to be Jessica in a cupcake costume for her school play.

Jessica lightly punched Donghae and giggled, "Jerk." She walked toward the door and called back, "Are you ready to go or what?"

Donghae, looking back one last time at the picture, called back, "Yeah," and ran to catch up with Jessica.

When they got to Donghae's car, it was Jessica's turn for her mouth to fall open. She gasped, "This is so nice!" She ran her hand over the top of the car, and opened the door to look inside. "How much did this cost?" she asked. "It seems like a lot."

Donghae shook his head and said, "It wasn't that expensive, anyways I paid for it with my own money."

"Haha, so are you ready or not?" Jessica said. "Let's go!"

------------------------------------------------

Donghae had opened the sunroof, so the wind was blowing. Jessica turned to look at him and quietly admired his perfect jawline, his impeccable complexion, and his deep eyes that seemed to draw you in. When Donghae turned to look at her, she quickly averted her eyes.

Donghae chuckled inwardly and asked, "Where do you want to go?"

Jessica's eyes widened. "You mean you don't have a plan for this?"

"Nope."

"In that case," Jessica replied thoughtfully, "can we go to the beach?"

Donghae looked at her strangely. "The beach? We don't have any gear, and besides, the weather isn't right."

Jessica pouted. "But I haven't been there for a long time. I really wanted to go again."

Donghae sighed and gave in. "Okay, let's go then."

--------------------------------------------------

Jessica stood up in her seat. "Wow, this feels so good!" she exclaimed, feeling the ocean wind rush through her hair.

Donghae suddenly pulled her down. "We're here, what do you want to do?" he asked.

Jessica grinned. "Let's go to the movie theater!"

The very movie theater she was talking about was famous for having the newest movies earlier than any other theater, even though it was stationed in a strange area.

They arrived and bought tickets to watch "Hatsuyuki no koi: Virgin Snow" since Jessica was a fan of Lee Jun Ki. The movie ended at 5:35. Jessica squealed, "Jun Ki oppa was so cute!" and added at the end, "But not as cute as you."

Donghae smiled. "Where do you want to go now? It's almost dinnertime."

Jessica replied, "To the cafe!"

The pair walked, holding hands, to the cafe near the beach. The oceanside location made it very popular among couples, so many teenagers went there during the weekends and the break.

"Hello," the waitress said, bowing. "How many people?"

"Two," Donghae said.

"Oceanside or inside?" she asked.

"Insi-"

"Oceanside!" Jessica interrupted.

"Ah," the waitress nodded knowingly at Jessica.

The two were led to their table, and Donghae gave a menu to Jessica. "What do you want?" he asked.

Jessica scanned the menu, and said, "Ummm I want a turkey sandwich with corn and a baked potato on the side."

Donghae laughed. "That's a strange combination,"

Jessica smiled. "That's what I ate the last time I came here!"

The waitress came back to take their order, and Donghae ended up ordering a steak with green beans.

They ate, and the waitress, having secretly arranged a special dance for them, turned on the music and spoke into the microphone, "This dance tonight is for a special couple, Lee Donghae and Jung Jessica, right over there," and the spotlight shone on them.

Jessica took Donghae's hand and they walked together to the dance floor, which was actually right over the ocean, and the floor was glass, so that it would seem like you were floating on the water. The music started playing, and Donghae led Jessica in a waltz.

"You're pretty good at this," Jessica mumbled.

Donghae whispered, "I've taken classes, for when I meet that special girl."

Jessica, partly seeing what Donghae was implying, blushed and looked at their feet. The other dates in the cafe had slowly trickled onto the dance floor and had begun dancing too, but to Jessica, it seemed like there was only the two of them.

After dancing for half an hour, they finally stopped, but to Jessica, it seemed too short of a time. She wished it had lasted longer, but both of them had been getting tired by then, and neither seemed like he or she could hold out much longer. They walked back to Donghae's car and drove home. Donghae dropped Jessica off, and got out of the car to walk her back. They arrived at the door and Jessica smiled.

"I had fun today," she said, "It was like a dream, and now I'm waking up. But before that, I want one more bit of fantasy." Then she kissed him. It was their second kiss and this time it was on the lips. Jessica smiled at Donghae and waited for a reaction. Donghae hugged her once and then turned around quickly and jogged back to his car. Jessica watched him until she couldn't see him anymore, and she opened the door to her mansion and went in.
