Kissing You 12

Kissing You chapter 12

"Hey. Hey," Jonghyun shook Seohyun's shoulder, but she wouldn't wake up. Jonghyun quickly contemplated leaving Seohyun while he got off the subway, but he shook the thought out of his head. "Nah, Tiffany'd probably be all if-you-weren't-my-cousin-I'd-plan-the-most-horrible-demise-for-you on me. Then I'd have to sit through a meal with her watching me like that, and then..." Jonghyun shivered.
Jonghyun started blowing softly into Seohyun's ear, tickling her.
"Wake up," he said softly, slowly getting louder as he repeated it. "Wake up, wake up, wake up!" He shoved Seohyun forcefully, and Seohyun fell onto the empty seat next to her.
"Ow," Seohyun rubbed her head. "What was that for?"
Jonghyun pointed out the window. "It's almost our stop, and you fell asleep."
"A simple 'wake up' would've been fine," Seohyun slapped the back of his head lightly.
"Hey, I tried. You just wouldn't wake up when I told you to," Jonghyun rolled his eyes.
"And what is up with that eye roll? I mean seriously, only girls roll their eyes. Ever consider you could be a girl?"
Jonghyun got up and walked off the train. Seohyun's mouth dropped open and she quickly ran after him.
"Stupid jerk," she muttered to herself. "Can't even be nice enough to tell a girl when he's getting off."
Jonghyun walked quickly out of the station, with Seohyun trailing behind him. Jonghyun turned around and sighed.
"Look, I'm going to meet my friends over there," he pointed to a small park. "Why don't you go find somewhere to sit down and get a drink or food or something, and I'll come get you when I'm done or tell Tiffany to get you or you can go home by yourself. You have the money, so I don't really care what you do."
Seohyun thought for a second, and smiled. "Fine. I'll do what I want to do." She grabbed on to Jonghyun's jacket. "Which is following you to wherever you're going. You know, for a genius, you're not very good with words."
Jonghyun smirked. "You like me that much?"
"Ew!" Seohyun immediately let go. "No way, I'm just trying to annoy you. Hey! Come back here! I'm not done with you yet!"
As Jonghyun arrived at the park, Seohyun caught up to him. "You-" she panted.
"Oh! Jonghyun!" Four boys ran up to Seohyun, who was only seconds away from strangling Jonghyun.
After saying hello to Jonghyun, the first thing the boys did was to look at Seohyun.
"Who's this?"
"Is she your girlfriend?"
"She's pretty."
"You finally got a girlfriend?"
"STOP!" Jonghyun shouted. For a few seconds, all six were silent.
Suddenly, the one with the mushroom-like haircut said, "But seriously, hyung, is she your girlfriend?"
"No!" Seohyun and Jonghyun replied quickly at the same time.
"Okay... so are you going to introduce us?" another boy with messy hair asked.
Getting tired of waiting for Jonghyun, Seohyun stepped forward and introduced herself. "I'm Ju Seohyun. Nice to meet you," she smiled sweetly.
Jonghyun glared at her and started pointing at each of his friends. "Left to right. Lee Taemin, Kim Kibum- we also call him Key, Onew, and Choi Minho."
Seohyun gave them a confused look. "What kind of name is Onew?"
"Well his real name is Lee Jinki, but he doesn't like that name, so we just call him Onew," Key replied.
"And why do they call you Key?" she asked again.
"Well... there's that other Kim Kibum that Jonghyun's cousin Tiffany knows, so we just call him Key because we don't want to get mixed up," Onew answered.
Seohyun thought for a minute and said, "Wait, I think I know you," she pointed at Taemin. "Or at least I've seen you before. But who are the rest of them? I've never seen them."
"Oh yeah!" Taemin piped up, "because I'm the popular one! I'm younger than all of them, but I'm the most popular," he smiled. He pointed at Onew, then Minho, then Jonghyun, and finally Key. "He's unpopular because he has the most major case of bad hair ever, he's unpopular because he looks like an alien, Jonghyun's unpopular because he's just plain antisocial, and he's unpopular just because he hangs out with them. Oh and they're pretty much nerds. They hide in the science lab."
"Then why are you popular?" Seohyun asked, clearly confused.
"Oh, that's easy. It's because he's cuter than we are," Jonghyun grumbled.
"Minho doesn't talk much, does he?" Seohyun sighed. "This is my last question by the way."
Jonghyun looked relieved. "Finally. But to answer your question, no, he does not talk a lot. As if you couldn't notice, since all of us have talked at least once."
Taemin studied Jonghyun and Seohyun carefully. "Are you sure you two aren't together? You seem.... close. Like the kind of bickering couple they have in dramas, the ones that get all angry at each other and then kiss and make up."
"No!" Seohyun shook her head violently. "I would not date this guy if he was the last guy on Earth. He is a rude, obnoxious, egoistical jerk who has no consideration for others."
Jonghyun exaggerated a gasp. "And you say that to someone who woke you up when you were about to get stuck on a train to somewhere unknown?"
"See?" Taemin gestured to the two arguing. "When they finally end up together, I'm going to tell them 'I told you so' and make them buy me candy."

The next day

Tiffany sat up in bed and turned on her laptop. She opened her email inbox.

From: Sunny
To: Taeyeon, Hyoyeon, Sunny, Jessica, Tiffany, Seohyun, Sooyoung, Yuri, Yoona, Donghae, Junsu

Hey! Hope you guys heard: The teachers have to go to some emergency meeting or something, so NO SCHOOL TODAY. How cool is that? Whether you're going to stay in bed, chat with your friends on the phone, or go out on a date, make sure to have fun! By the way, could you pass this on to others?

P.S. If you do anything interesting and gossip-worthy, I'll know. Don't worry about me! ^^

Suddenly, Tiffany's phone rang. Seeing the caller ID, she picked it up.
"Oh, Kyuhyun! You heard right? We have no school today!..... Oh.... Sorry!! I'm so sorry Kyuhyun! I had to help Sooyoung yesterday and I totally lost track of time and didn't pick up your call and everything and I'm so sorry! Okay, to make it up to you, how about let's go play at the park today. Now? Okay, I'll be right there."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Kyuhyun!" Tiffany waved as she half ran, half bounced into the park. "I'm so sorry Kyuhyun! I really didn't know you were coming out from the hospital that day! And I didn't know you came to my house either!"
Kyuhyun laughed. "Then do you want me to tell you something else you don't know? The doctor said that exercise would be good for me, so do you want to play some soccer?" He brought out a ball and started bouncing it on his knee.
"Yay!" Tiffany took the soccer ball and kicked it across the field into the goal.
"Hey, you're pretty good!" Kyuhyun ran after the ball. "Do you think you can beat me?"
Tiffany giggled and kicked the ball into the goal that Kyuhyun was guarding. "Are you sure you don't want me to go easy on you?" she teased.
"Omo! It's Tiffany! And Kyuhyun!" Sunny pointed. She had recruited Junsu to help her look for gossip worthy news, and they were walking together.
"Ooh, ooh, Sunny, they're playing soccer! Can we play too?" Junsu ran to the grass without waiting for Sunny's answer.
Sunny laughed and ran to where the other three were fighting for the soccer ball.
"Okay, let's play a game! Kyuhyun and Tiffany on one team, me and Sunny on the other," Junsu smiled.
"Sure!" Tiffany replied.
The four kicked the ball around until they got tired, and then they sat down.
"Junsu," Tiffany panted, "I didn't know you were that good at soccer."
"Kyuhyun, you're not bad yourself," Junsu replied.
"Yeah, but I suck," Sunny laughed.
"Yeah, you kinda do," Kyuhyun answered playfully.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Ah! Kibum!" Yuri waved her hand furiously in the air. "Over here!"
Kibum smiled and walked over to where Yuri was sitting. "Do you want me to get the ice cream?" he asked.
"Okay," Yuri grinned.
A few minutes later, Kibum came back with two double-scoop cups of ice cream. "Strawberry and vanilla with sprinkles on top for you, and plain chocolate and vanilla for me."
"How did you know I wanted strawberry and vanilla with sprinkles on top?" Yuri asked.
"It's what you always get," Kibum laughed.
"Well... yeah," Yuri admitted. "So what did you need to tell me?" She took a big bite out of her ice cream.
Kibum pushed Yuri's and his ice cream aside. "Hey, I was eating that!" Yuri protested.
"Well.... you'll get your ice cream back after I tell you. Okay?" Kibum bit his lip nervously.
"Okay," Yuri sighed.
"Well," Kibum started, "Yuri, the truth is.. I really li-"
"OPPA!" Yuri screamed. Donghae had just walked into the ice cream shop and was ordering. He turned around, saw Yuri and Kibum, and waved.
"Hey," he smiled, "I didn't see you guys here."
Yuri skipped over to Donghae, and she said, "What are you doing here oppa?"
"Well, you know, just ordering some ice cream cake for my cousin's birthday that's coming up. This is an ice cream shop," Donghae laughed.
Yuri quickly involved Donghae in a conversation about numerous hair products, their uses, and which brands were good and which ones were not. Meanwhile, Kibum dug into his ice cream furiously, eventually getting brainfreeze and slamming his head onto the table.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hyoyeon's phone buzzed, indicating that she had a text. She flipped it open and read the message.

Eunhyuk: Are you doing anything today?

Hyoyeon quickly typed back a reply.

Hyoyeon: No, why?

Within seconds, a reply came again.

Eunhyuk: Just wondering. Do you want to go to the dance studio? And then a snack and stuff?

Hyoyeon: Okay. When?

Eunhyuk: 2 minutes.

Hyoyeon: WHAT???? 2 MINUTES???? I can't make it there that quickly.

Eunhyuk: Kekeke, just kidding. 20 minutes. ^^

Hyoyeon grabbed her bag and a change of clothes, and jogged to the studio. When she got there, Eunhyuk was already standing there and pointing at his watch.
"You're exactly two seconds late," he joked.
Hyoyeon laughed, "Shut up, if I'm two seconds late, you're 2 minutes early. You said 20 minutes."
Eunhyuk pouted. "Way to ruin my mood."
"Thank you!" Hyoyeon walked inside and went into the bathroom to change.
"Hey," Eunhyuk grinned as Hyoyeon came out, "I hope you're ready for a challenge. I had Seohyun burn a ballet-hip hop mix for me." He waved a CD in the air.
Hyoyeon smiled and walked onto the dance floor. "Are you ready? You know, we don't have to have a competition, I could just go easy on you."
Eunhyuk tilted his head back and laughed loudly. "Are you serious? I'm ready when you are." He slipped the CD into the stereo and music started blasting out.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After showering in the locker rooms to get rid of the sweat, Hyoyeon and Eunhyuk headed to the local cafe to get something to eat. They sat down and ordered their food.
"You know, I beat you," Eunhyuk said to Hyoyeon.
"Are you kidding me? I beat you and you know it," Hyoyeon teased.
Eunhyuk grumbled. "Fine, we'll get Seohyun to judge it next time."
A camera lens peeked out from the plant about one table away from Hyoyeon and Eunhyuk, but went unnoticed. On the other side of the camera, Sunny dictated Junsu strictly on how to write everything down.
"Okay, they're eating.... cookies. Chocolate chip cookies. Well Eunhyuk is. Hyoyeon's eating a salad. Ew... Eunhyuk's talking about some kind of seven-vegetable-fruit-juice juice.. I don't think I want to try that."
Sunny quickly snapped some pictures, then pulled her lens out of the plant's leaves. "Okay, we're done here. Why don't we order something and take a break. Junsu?"
He gave the notepad and pen to Sunny. "Here you go!" he chirped.
Sunny blinked as she stared at the paper. "Junsu..." she said slowly, "These are drawings of dolphins."
Junsu took the notepad and smiled innocently. "No, look! The dolphins have words in them!" He pointed at the lines, and Sunny saw that there were, indeed, words in them.
"Very... artistic," Sunny raised her eyebrow. "Good job." She took the pen and scribbled quickly on the notepad: Note to self- next time, let Junsu use camera, NOT notepad.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yoona was wandering around school... on a day when no one had school. And why? Because she was planning the school's annual fashion show. She was in the theater, but little did she know that Ryeowook and Donghae were there too. She walked slowly around the theater, holding a clipboard and sketching what decorations would go well next to the catwalk to make the outfits stand out, how many chairs could fit, where the models would come out, of course how many outfits she would need to design, and much more. Yoona walked outside and circled the whole building to sketch the decorations and banners going on the outside. She was so engrossed in looking for a good place for advertising banners, Yoona didn't notice singing coming from the sound and broadcasting rooms until she was right in front of it.
"What's this?" she asked herself. "It sounds so beautiful." She walked over to the door and peeked in through the small window, and quickly hid when she saw someone coming out.
Yoona gasped and whispered to herself, "Donghae oppa? He was singing?"
Hearing the voices coming closer to the door, she quickly dashed to the other side of the building and pretended to still be working.

Inside, Donghae was talking to Ryeowook.
"Great job today," he smiled. "Ms. Han really wanted me to find a partner for the opening music for the fashion show. Thanks for volunteering at the last minute. You're a lifesaver. I don't know what I would do without you."
Ryeowook laughed. "No, you're the one doing all of the instruments. All I'm doing is singing."
The two walked out and bumped into Yoona.
"Oh! Yoona!" Donghae greeted. He poked Ryeowook and whispered, "Say hi. You have a crush on her right?"
"What?" Ryeowook backtracked quickly, trying to think of a moment when he had told Donghae that he liked Yoona.
Donghae chuckled. "I can tell. You always stutter and turn red when you're near her. Why don't you say hi?"
"I want to," Ryeowook whispered back, "but whenever I get near her I just freeze up. She's just so.. pretty."
"Oh! Hi oppa!" Yoona waved, looking surprised. "What brings you here?"
"Don't you know? Ms. Han told us to help you with the music for the fashion show," Donghae answered. He punched Ryeowook in the arm.
"Uh... huh...." Ryeowook choked out. Yoona looked at him strangely, but continued.
"Oh yeah! But I didn't know that it would be you and..."
"Ryeowook," Ryeowook blurted out quickly.
"Yeah, Ryeowook," Yoona nodded, "that would be doing it. Was that you in the recording studio?"
"Yep," Donghae grinned. "But don't tell anyone else that's helping you plan- we're going to keep it as a surprise."
Yoona smiled. "You sounded really good. I hope to hear the real version soon." She walked away, and Donghae slapped Ryeowook on the arm.
"Hey," Ryeowook whined, "that's my writing arm."
"Well your writing arm has no use if you can't talk to the girl you like," Donghae snapped.
Ryeowook hung his head down. "Sorry," he said.
Donghae shook his head. "Whatever, we're both tired. Let's go get some black bean noodles."

Yoona squealed to herself. "Donghae oppa's such a good singer. But I wonder what that other guy was doing there...."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jessica logged in to AIM.

G-Dragon: hey, do you still want me to tutor you today?
IcePrincess: yeah. i'd go somewhere, but i feel like staying home today. i kind of have a headache.
G-Dragon: wait, a headache? are you sure you still want to be tutored today?
IcePrincess: yeah. my mom's going to kill me if i don't get a good grade.
G-Dragon: okay, when do you want me to be at your house?
IcePrincess: umm... ASAP.
G-Dragon: then i'll leave ASAP. ^^

G-Dragon has signed out at 2:12 PM

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The doorbell rang. Jessica ran down the stairs and opened the door. Jiyong stood there, holding a stack of books.
"Hey," she said.
"Hi," Jiyong replied, and walked right to the table where Jessica was tutored. It had been there ever since she was little.
Jessica looked at Jiyong suspiciously. "Hey, how do you know this is where I'm tutored?"
Jiyong's mind raced to find an answer, and he finally sputtered, "W-well, I just thought the ch-chairs looked comfortable here."
"Okay, whatever. Let's just get started," Jessica sighed.
Jiyong first explained folktales and myths. While Jessica was reading a folktale, Jiyong looked around.
This place hasn't changed much, he thought fondly. As his eyes scanned the room, they unexpectedly fell on a picture frame. Not just any picture frame, but a ceramic one that he had painted and glazed with Jessica before he had left for America. The picture frame was the same, but the picture wasn't.
Jiyong clearly remembered taking pictures at an amusement park with Jessica before he left. He could still remember the ferris wheel in the background, with the vending machine on the left and the benches on the right, with a small path leading to other roller coasters in the back. That was the picture that went into the frame, but now, only Jessica was in the picture. The other half with Jiyong looked like it was cut out, with an uneven edge. However, the edges were blackened. It was a dead giveaway that Jessica had tried to burn it.
"Which picture are you looking at?" Jessica asked suddenly. Jiyong's head suddenly swung back to look at her, and she caught a flash again. Only this time, she saw the flash of a key. A silver one. From what she remembered the last time she had seen a key on Jiyong's neck, the key to his house was gold. Jessica shook the thought out of her head, though, and looked to the picture Jiyong was pointing at.
"Oh, the family picture?" Jessica smiled.
"Yeah," Jiyong stuttered. In truth, he had just pointed to a random picture, hoping that Jessica wouldn't notice he was lying.
"Well, stop looking. You have to help me, remember?" Jessica pointed to the book, and Jiyong nodded.
Even though Jiyong gave Jessica instructions and told her about how to find irony in literature, the two were absorbed in their own thoughts for most of the lesson.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sungmin stopped his finger from pressing Sooyoung's doorbell as he stood outside. He bit his lip and sighed. "It's now or never Sungmin," he told himself.
As soon as he rang the doorbell, the door swung open.
"AAH!" Sungmin screamed.
Sooyoung managed to force a smile. "I saw you standing there for ten minutes. A snail could get up our driveway faster than you. I just decided to come down here and wait."
"How's your ankle?" Sungmin asked.
"Better," Sooyoung answered softly.
Sungmin lowered his head. "Can we talk?"
Sooyoung sighed. "Yeah."
They walked to the back porch, where Sooyoung sat in the swing. Sungmin sat next to her and took her hand.
"Look, Sooyoung. I'm really sorry," he said. "I just wasn't thinking, and I know you still like Donghae, but I really like you a lot and then when I saw you with him I just felt so helpless and then I just got all angry and started yelling and-"
Sooyoung broke Sungmin off with a kiss. Surprised, Sungmin's eyes stayed open until he melted into the reality of the kiss. After what seemed like forever, Sooyoung pulled away and looked down.
"-I'm sorry," Sungmin finished.
Sooyoung smiled. "Are you mad at me?"
Sungmin's eyes widened. "Why would I be mad at you? I just apologized!"
Sooyoung laughed. "Not that. For the... kiss."
Sungmin shook his head violently. "Really."
"I'm sorry too," Sooyoung sighed. "I should've told you and everything. And I know I'm still not sure about my feelings, but I'll try and make it up to you by being a good girlfriend. Forgive me?"
Sungmin answered Sooyoung with another kiss. This time, it was cut short by Soojin yelling from the doorway.
"Hey! Get a room or something! Some people are trying to eat their pie without barfing!"
Sooyoung and Sungmin looked at each other and laughed.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Changmin knocked on the door, and Heechul and Taeyeon both yelled at the same time, "You go get it."
"He's your friend," Taeyeon called.
"He's your.... OH FINE." Heechul stomped to the door and pulled it open.
Heechul pointed his index finger at Taeyeon, who was leaning over the upstairs railing. "I'll get you one day!" he shouted. "One day, you'll accidentally fall over that railing, and I. Won't. Save. You." Heechul grabbed Changmin, who was inches away from reaching the stairs to go to Taeyeon, and dragged Changmin to his room.
Taeyeon stuck out her tounge after him. "Umma, appa, I'm going shopping!" she called.
"Okay honey," her mom called. "Don't forget to come home for dinner. Changmin's staying over for the night."
Heechul stuck his head out of his room and whined, "Why does she get to go shopping? I asked you politely and you said no!"
"Oh Heechul," his mother answered, "you don't need shoes and skirts like Taeyeon does. I remember when I was her age, I spent fortunes! I intend to let her do the same thing."
"Appa!" Heechul shouted.
"No Heechul," his father replied, "I remember when I was your age, I spent enough in a week to buy one bowl of kimchi. I intend to let you do the same thing."
Heechul sighed and muttered something about favoritism, and pulled his head back inside.
